I was on a Saint Tropez Beach, in France, and remarked previously a blur on my Camera lens , to be sure before sending it to maintenance, I decided to take some pictures of a clear blue sky with no clouds, to have clear example of the problem.
I took 6 pictures, with the sun in the back, to be sure there will not be any interference, or so. On one of them , I remarqued a trail and an object at right end of the trail, spherical, it seemed to be something as a very fast moving white sphere , leaving a trail, like car lights you can take at night with long exposure.
I have the GPS data, The Aperture f/5, the focal ( 46.6 mm ) and Speed 1/640s The camera was a Sony DSC HX20V You can remark the object and trail at the upper left of the picture, and the camera blurr on the middle right.
The trail shows that it moved from left picture edge to one fifth of the picture size during 1/640 of a second depending on its distance , and for instance, if the object was the size of an helicopter, the speed could be around 8000 to 12000 Km/h Here is the picture Best regards Some time later and just to be sure, I took various pictures of planes at high altitudes, to compare , with the same camera, and the planes even if flying at around 900 Km/h, just appear still on the pictures, no trail.
